I can't sit still; it's just not in my nature. Luckily for me, DC is a city that constantly keeps me on my toes. With so much to explore, it's impossible to uncover it all, but I certainly try my hardest.

COFFEE |  The Simple Pleasures

Life is fast paced, and I like it that way. But in a world where hours feel like seconds, a cup of coffee can be a perfect cure to the time-warp. The mood of a day can be determined by something as simple as going to a coffee shop before work and strolling to the office – mug in hand – just taking in the sites.

ART |  Inspiration for Life

When it comes to art, I am a self-described Dadaist and Semiotician, at least in thought – not in style. Creating, studying, and simply enjoying art is a learning experience that prepares you for so many of life’s toughest personal and professional challenges. I truly believe nothing exists that a creative mind and critical eye can’t improve.

POLITICS |  Food for Thought

It is by no mistake that I find myself living in the political capital of the world. Growing up in Massachusetts, I've always had an itch for public policy and an infatuation with Washington, DC – where people meet to discuss great ideas and consider different viewpoints. Sharing knowledge heightens the level of conversation we have in this country and I love that my job allows me to be part of that process.

RUNNINg |  My Happy Hour

The day I ran 26.2 miles was one of the happiest in my life. Running a marathon is one of my greatest personal accomplishments and the feeling of racing intoxicates me every time. Running teaches discipline and challenges you mentally and physically, providing a string of peaceful moments in an otherwise chaotic day.

TRAVEL |  It's a Big World Out There

I like to travel, a lot. It combines all my favorite things: coffee, art, politics, and running. Experiencing other cultures provides a joy that is hard to come by in ordinary, everyday life. Though, once you've experienced these pleasures in faraway places, it is easier to find them right here at home.
